On Line Computerization of Registration Documents currently named as E- Nathikaran was initiated in the year 2007 as a Public Private Project (PPP) and on a Build - Own - Operate - Transfer (BOOT) model by the Office Of the Inspector General Of Registration & Commissioner Stamp Revenue, under the Finance Department, Government Of West Bengal, our scope of service covers the design and deployment of Civil, Electrical and Networking infrastructure besides the delivery, installation and maintenance of all IT product and services including the Integrated Queue Management System in 80 offices in the districts of Kolkata, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Howrah & Nadia and providing Citizen Services through dedicated personnel in 47 selected office in these districts. The project is currently underway till March 2021.
West Bengal has 42,042 revenue villages (Mouzas) spread across 19 Districts covered through 68,328 Cadastral maps. The initial cartographic survey leading to the creation of Cadastral Survey (CS) maps commenced in 1888. Perpetual change in land character due to socio political changes along with the creation of new districts and police stations necessitate a continuous modification and updation of these maps. SMTPL has been entrusted with the responsibility of digitization and updation of these maps by Webel technology Limited.
With an in-house team of industry trained GIS personnel and large format scanners and plotters, SMTPL delivers the entire service ensuring an end to end secure environment for such sensitive and old documents.

Remote Sensing & Geographical Information System (GIS) is a very important tool for modern urban planning and management. Essentially it integrates a large array of spatial and non spatial information with respect to various spatial information like land use urban services, infrastructure and socio economic information. This has specific importance in the context of slums and informal settlements where accurate representation of the ground scenario with that of the socio-economic conditions of the people is necessity for planning inclusively. The basic requirement of the Slum Free City Plan of Action (SFCPoA) in Rajiv AwasYojna (RAY) is to prepare GIS base map at a suitable scale for the ULB area.
